How to Clean Inside Kitchen Cabinets

Cabinet interiors quietly collect crumbs, dust, and grease. Here's how to reset them — and when it's worth a full unpack.

Empty a Section at a Time

Work one cabinet or a few at a time so the counters don't disappear under everything at once. It's also the natural moment to declutter — expired pantry items, duplicate gadgets, and chipped dishes.

Wipe the Interiors

Vacuum or brush out crumbs and dust first, then wipe shelves and walls with a barely-damp cloth and mild cleaner. Dry thoroughly — trapped moisture is the enemy of wood interiors. Let shelves dry fully before restocking.

Grease on the Fronts

Cabinet fronts near the stove collect a greasy film that dulls the finish. A degreaser with dwell time cuts it — gently on painted or wood finishes. Handles and edges hold the most fingerprints.

Full unpack and restock?

We offer both a cabinet wipe and a full unpack & restock as add-ons to a deep clean. Build your quote.

Liners & Organization

If shelves are worn or you want easier future cleaning, washable liners help. Restock with a little organization — heavy items low, everyday items front — so the reset actually lasts.

Wipe vs. Full Unpack

A wipe details the interiors, fronts, and shelves as they are. A full unpack & restock empties every cabinet, cleans inside and out, and restacks everything neatly — the white-glove version, and the labor behind its higher price. Which you want depends on how long it's been.

Have It Done

Cabinet interiors are a common add-on precisely because they're tedious. A professional folds them into a kitchen deep clean.

For the counters beside those cabinets, especially marble, granite, or quartzite, the product rules are in cleaning products safe for natural stone.
