The Scope

What a Tile & Grout Clean Includes

Mopping cleans the tile face but pushes dirty water into the grout. A proper tile and grout clean treats the lines themselves — the part that actually holds the discoloration.

Floors & Hard Surfaces

  • Ceramic, porcelain & stone tile floors
  • Grout-line agitation & hot-water extraction
  • Embedded dirt & traffic-lane buildup
  • Haze-free, residue-free finish

Showers & Backsplashes

  • Soap-scum & hard-water mineral removal
  • Mildew & discoloration treatment
  • Shower walls, pans & niches
  • Kitchen & bathroom backsplashes

Optional Grout Sealing

  • Penetrating sealer to resist stains
  • Color-seal to restore an even tone
  • Recommended after a deep clean
  • Clean-only is always fine, too

Natural Stone & Specialty Tile

  • Travertine, marble & slate tile
  • pH-neutral, non-acidic cleaning
  • Honed & polished finish care
  • Saltillo, terracotta & cement

Sealing: The Optional Add-On That Protects the Clean

The Finishing Step

Grout is porous, so it re-absorbs spills and grime the moment it’s clean again. After the deep clean, you can add a penetrating sealer to repel water and staining, or a color-seal that also restores a uniform grout color where it’s discolored unevenly. Sealing is genuinely optional — many clients book the clean on its own and add sealing later. One thing the referred pros don’t do: regrouting or tile replacement. This service cleans and seals the grout you have; it isn’t installation.

Safe for Natural Stone, Too

Material-Aware

Marble, travertine, and limestone are acid-sensitive — the wrong cleaner etches them permanently. The referred professionals identify the material first and use stone-safe products and sealers accordingly. If you want to go deeper, our guides on how to clean grout, grout sealing, and cleaning natural-stone tile cover the how and why. Tile and grout is also a natural companion to a deep clean, where it’s most often added.

Common Questions

Tile & Grout FAQ

How much does tile and grout cleaning cost?

Tile and grout cleaning is quote-based: price depends on the areas you want done, the condition of the grout, and whether you add sealing or color-sealing. You receive a fixed quote — price and estimated time — before anything is scheduled.

Do you seal grout after cleaning?

Yes — sealing is an optional add-on. Once the grout is deep-cleaned, a penetrating sealer (or a color-seal) can be applied to help the lines resist staining and stay uniform. It’s the natural finishing step after a deep clean, but you can also book cleaning on its own.

What’s the difference between sealing and color-sealing?

A penetrating sealer soaks into the grout to repel water and stains while keeping the existing color. Color-sealing applies a tinted, protective coating that both seals and restores a clean, even grout color — useful when grout has discolored unevenly over time.

Do you regrout or replace grout?

No. The referred professionals clean and seal existing grout; they don’t regrout, replace tile, or perform installation. If your grout is cracked or missing, that’s a separate trade outside this service.

Can you clean natural stone like marble or travertine?

Yes, with stone-safe chemistry. Natural stone is acid-sensitive, so the professionals use pH-appropriate products rather than the acidic cleaners that can etch marble, travertine, and limestone.

Can tile and grout cleaning be added to a regular or deep clean?

Yes. It’s commonly added to a deep clean, and it can also be booked as a standalone visit. Tell us what you need when you request a quote and we’ll scope it either way.
