Why Maid VIP · The Case, With Evidence

Why Maid VIP costs more — and what that buys.

Published prices, four-stage vetting, two layers of insurance, one professional who knows your home, a flat quote, and a written re-clean policy — twelve years running. Here is each claim, and where to check it.

Maid VIP costs more than most cleaning services in Los Angeles and Ventura County, and the difference buys six specific things: published prices in a market where only 4 of 46 established companies publish any; a four-stage, documented vetting process that every referred professional clears before a first introduction; a fully insured and bonded agency referring professionals who carry verified liability insurance of their own; the same professional on your home visit after visit; one flat quote before any work begins; and a 24-hour resolution and re-clean policy that stands behind the result. Twelve years of doing it this way, since 2014, is the record. This page lays out each claim and where to verify it.

The short version

A standard clean for a home under 1,500 square feet is $250 on Maid VIP’s published rates. Hourly cleaning in this market runs $30–$50 per cleaner per hour with the total unknown until the work is done, and most companies won’t tell you either number until you’ve given them your phone number. The premium is real, and it is the price of knowing who is in your home, what it will cost, and what happens if something is missed. If the lowest possible price is the goal, Maid VIP is honestly not the right fit. If the goal is never having to think about it again, read on.

We publish our prices. Almost no one else does.

In August 2026, Maid VIP surveyed 46 established house-cleaning companies across Los Angeles and Ventura County — every company we could find with twenty or more Google reviews — to see who publishes pricing. Four do. Forty-two don’t. That’s 91% of the market asking you to call before you can learn what a clean costs. The full method, sample, and findings are in the 2026 Los Angeles House Cleaning Price Transparency Report, published under an open license so anyone can check it.

Maid VIP is one of the four. Standard cleaning runs $250 for homes up to 1,500 square feet, $300–$475 for 1,500–2,500, $475–$650 for 2,500–3,500, and from $650 above that. Deep cleans and move-in/move-out cleans run $450–$650, $650–$1,000, $1,000–$1,400, and from $1,400 for the same tiers. Estate housekeeping is $320 a day for one professional, $640 for two, $1,600 a week Monday through Friday. The cost calculator returns an instant range, and every cost guide on the site — house cleaning, deep cleaning, move-out, commercial and the rest — is built from those rates and from signed quotes, never from estimates.

Four stages, no shortcuts.

No professional is referred by Maid VIP without clearing a documented, four-stage process, and the stages are published in full on the methodology page. Application: a formal application documenting an independent business, service history, and at least two years of hands-on cleaning experience. Background and identity: identity is confirmed and a criminal background check is run; anyone who does not clear it is not referred, without exception. Reference verification: prior clients are contacted directly to confirm reliability, quality, professionalism, and trustworthiness inside a private home. License and insurance audit: a valid business license and documented proof of active liability insurance are required and verified before any referral is made.

Vetting is treated as an ongoing obligation rather than a one-time gate: licenses and insurance are re-confirmed over time, and client feedback feeds directly back into who remains in the network. This is the part of the price that’s invisible on the day of the clean and decisive on the day something goes wrong.

Insured, bonded, and accountable at both levels.

Maid VIP is a fully insured and bonded California domestic referral agency, and every professional it refers has passed the license and insurance audit above, which means there are two layers of coverage around your home: the agency’s, and the professional’s own verified liability policy. Many low-priced services offer neither — a solo cleaner without insurance, or a company that describes workers as “covered” without documentation. Ask any cleaning service to show you the policy. Maid VIP’s vetting requires it before a name reaches your door.

The same professional, every visit.

Maid VIP matches each home with one vetted professional — or one small team for larger properties — and keeps that match. The professional learns the house: the finishes that need care, the rooms that matter most, the alarm code, the dog. That consistency is why estate clients in Beverly Hills and Malibu use the agency, and it’s why an office in Moorpark has kept the same account for years. Rotating crews are how most cleaning companies stay cheap, and rotating crews are how homes get damaged and details get missed.

One flat number, before the work begins.

Every Maid VIP quote is a single flat price for a defined scope, agreed before the visit. No hourly meter, no “starting at,” no adjustment on completion. The alternative — hourly billing at $30–$50 per cleaner — penalizes thoroughness and makes the final cost a surprise; the comparison is laid out in hourly vs. flat-rate cleaning, and what a cleaning quote should include shows you what to demand from anyone else.

We stand behind it: the 24-hour re-clean policy.

If something isn’t right, tell Maid VIP within 24 hours and the agency arranges to make it right with a re-clean. The policy is written into the Cancellation & Refund Policy and the Terms of Service, not implied in a sales call. A premium price without a written remedy is just a premium; this is the remedy.

Twelve years, on the record.

Maid VIP was founded in Thousand Oaks in 2014 and has spent twelve years matching homes across Los Angeles and Ventura County with vetted professionals. The record is public in three places. Documented Results is a growing before-and-after gallery of real jobs, published with client permission, with full case studies behind them — an apartment turnover in Los Angeles and a multi-year small-office account in Moorpark. Client reviews are on Google, on Yelp, and with the Better Business Bureau. And in 2026, Quality Business Awards named Maid VIP the Best Home Cleaning Service in Thousand Oaks.

Why a referral agency — and why we say so out loud.

Maid VIP operates as a domestic referral agency under California Civil Code §1812.5095, and says so on every page. The professionals it refers are independent businesses, not employees; they set their own rates and earn their true worth rather than being ground down to the lowest price. That structure is why the vetting is so strict — the agency’s entire value is the integrity of the introduction — and why it stays involved after the match to coordinate scheduling and resolve any concern. Most cleaning companies don’t disclose their model at all. The trade-offs between an agency, an employer, and a solo cleaner are set out plainly in referral agency vs. employee vs. solo gig.

The people accountable.

Maid VIP stays small on purpose. Chris Szetela founded and owns the agency, defines the standards every professional is vetted against, and signs commercial quotes himself. Charm, the general manager, runs the agency day to day — vetting, matching, and the client relationship from the first call through every follow-up; she is the person clients actually talk to. There is no call center, and there is no one between you and the people responsible.

What we don’t do.

Maid VIP doesn’t dispatch unknown gig workers. It doesn’t rotate crews through your home. It doesn’t bill by the hour or quote “starting at.” It doesn’t hide its prices behind a phone call. It doesn’t describe independent professionals as employees, and it doesn’t refer anyone whose license, insurance, references, and background it hasn’t verified. Every one of those is a way to be cheaper, and every one is a way a home ends up worse off.

So, the price.

A $250 standard clean for a smaller home, against $30–$50 an hour for a cleaner whose insurance and background you’re taking on faith, is the whole comparison. What the difference buys is documented vetting, two layers of insurance, one professional who knows your home, a flat number you can budget, a written re-clean policy, twelve years of record, and prices you can read before you call. Maid VIP is built for households and businesses that value that certainty over the last dollar — estate owners who need discretion, families who want the same trusted person every time, property managers and office managers who need a vendor that simply shows up. For anyone else, there are 42 companies that will quote you by phone.

One thing the published prices settle up front: they are the price. Maid VIP doesn’t compete with the cheapest listing you can find, and it doesn’t negotiate against one, because the professionals it refers earn what the standard costs and the agency won’t ask them to work for less. Publishing the rates is how that stays honest in both directions — no one has to ask, and no one has to haggle. If a lower number matters more than the standard, the right answer is a different company, and Maid VIP will say so politely and mean it.

Common questions

Why does Maid VIP cost more than other cleaning services?

Because every referred professional clears a four-stage documented vetting process including a criminal background check and a license and insurance audit, the agency is itself insured and bonded, every quote is flat, and the work is backed by a written 24-hour re-clean policy. Those are costs most low-priced services don’t carry.

Is Maid VIP worth the price?

For clients who value knowing who is in their home, what it costs before the visit, and what happens if something is missed — yes, and twelve years of recurring clients is the evidence. For clients whose only criterion is the lowest price, no, and Maid VIP will say so. The rates are published precisely so that conversation never has to happen.

Are the cleaners Maid VIP employees?

No. Maid VIP is a domestic referral agency under California Civil Code §1812.5095. The professionals it refers are independent businesses, vetted and matched by the agency, who set their own rates.

Is Maid VIP insured?

Yes. The agency is fully insured and bonded, and every referred professional has verified proof of active liability insurance and a valid business license before any referral is made.

Does Maid VIP publish its prices?

Yes — by home size and service, on the site, with an instant calculator. In the agency’s 2026 survey, only 4 of 46 established Los Angeles and Ventura County cleaning companies did.

What if I’m not satisfied with a clean?

Report it within 24 hours and Maid VIP arranges a re-clean under its written resolution policy.
