How We Vet

How we vet every professional we refer.

Maid VIP is a fully insured and bonded California domestic referral agency. We never send a name to your door that hasn't cleared a documented, multi-stage vetting process — here is exactly what that process involves.

As a referral agency, our most important responsibility is the integrity of the introductions we make. The independent cleaning professionals in our network run their own businesses — but they earn a place in it only by clearing every stage of the vetting funnel below. We verify before we refer, and we re-confirm credentials on an ongoing basis. To run the same checks on any cleaner yourself, see how to verify a house cleaner’s insurance in California; the legal model behind every referral is explained in what a domestic referral agency is.

The Vetting Funnel

Four stages. No shortcuts.

01

Application

Every professional begins with a formal application documenting their independent business, service history, and at least two years of hands-on cleaning experience.

02

Background & Identity Checks

We confirm identity and run a criminal background check. Anyone who does not clear it is not referred — without exception.

03

Reference Verification

We contact prior clients directly to confirm reliability, quality of work, professionalism, and trustworthiness inside a private home.

04

License & Insurance Audit

We require and verify a valid business license and documented proof of active liability insurance before any referral is made.

A Fully Insured & Bonded California Referral Agency

Maid VIP operates as a domestic referral agency under California law. We are fully insured and bonded, and we structure every engagement around that standing. Maid VIP LLC carries its own commercial general liability ($2,000,000 per occurrence), professional liability ($1,000,000), and cyber & data coverage with Hiscox, and keeps the $3,000 employment-agency surety bond California requires under Civil Code §1812.503 on file with the Secretary of State; the professionals we refer carry their own general-liability policies, verified before the first visit. The limits and what each policy covers are listed on the insurance verification guide, and a certificate is available on request. Every engagement is structured around that standing: we vet and introduce independent professionals, the professional performs the work, and we stay involved to help coordinate scheduling and resolve any concern. The same standard is reflected in our Terms of Service and backed by the 24-hour resolution & re-clean policy in our Cancellation & Refund Policy.

Coverage at a glance

  • Commercial general liability
  • Professional liability
  • Cyber & data coverage
  • California employment-agency surety bond
  • Each referred professional: their own general-liability policy, verified by Maid VIP before the referral

Certificate of insurance available on request: contact Maid VIP. Limits and what each policy covers: how to verify a cleaner’s insurance.

Why this standard costs more than the market, and what the difference buys, is set out on Why Maid VIP. Because we treat vetting as an ongoing obligation rather than a one-time gate, licenses and insurance are re-confirmed over time, and client feedback feeds directly back into who remains in our network.
