Daily Tasks

Every working day: empty all trash and replace liners, clean and disinfect restrooms (toilets, sinks, mirrors, restock supplies), wipe high-touch surfaces (door handles, light switches, shared equipment, elevator buttons), tidy and wipe break-room counters and sinks, spot-clean glass and entry doors, and vacuum or spot-mop high-traffic floors. Restrooms and high-touch points are the non-negotiables.

Weekly Tasks

Once a week: dust desks, sills, and surfaces throughout, wipe down all break-room appliances, vacuum all carpeted areas fully, mop hard floors, clean interior glass and partitions, and disinfect phones and keyboards in shared spaces. This is where the office goes from “maintained” to genuinely clean.

Monthly Tasks

Monthly (or quarterly): high and low dusting (vents, ledges, baseboards), interior windows, detailed restroom work, upholstery and chair cleaning, and attention to areas daily work doesn't reach. Carpets benefit from periodic professional extraction, and hard floors from a deeper treatment.

By Area

Restrooms: daily, non-negotiable. Break rooms and kitchens: daily wipe-downs, weekly appliance detail. Workstations: daily trash and high-touch, weekly dusting. Common areas and reception: daily presentation, since it's the first thing clients see. Conference rooms: reset and wipe after heavy use.

Building Your Schedule

The right frequency depends on headcount, foot traffic, and industry — a busy medical practice needs far more than a quiet back office. Our office cleaning frequency guide helps you set the cadence, and workplace interior standards covers presentation. Match the checklist to your space and it runs itself.
